Travel diaries: Ibiza

2025

Sometimes you arrive in a place where everything just feels right. Where the sun seems a little warmer, time moves a little slower, and life itself feels softer. For us, that place was Ibiza. Not the crowded clubs or noisy beaches, but the other Ibiza — the island of calm, rhythm, and quiet beauty.

It all began in the north, at a colorful seaside hotel and restaurant called Los Enamorados. A place where you wake up to the sound of waves, and end your day sharing stories with strangers. Los Enamorados isn’t just a hotel or restaurant, it’s a mood. Tucked away in the quiet bay of Portinatx, at the very north of Ibiza, this place feels like someone’s wildly creative dream brought to life. A former fisherman’s inn turned eclectic boutique hotel, it’s a curated chaos of vintage treasures, handmade ceramics, bold colors, and laid-back luxury. Nothing matches and yet, somehow, everything belongs.

From the moment you walk in, you're surrounded by objects from around the world: African masks, Persian rugs, retro lamps, Mediterranean antiques. The vibe is stylish but unpretentious, like staying at the home of that effortlessly cool friend who always knows where the party is, but also how to disappear from it.

From there, we drove inland to Sant Gertrudis, a charming village filled with creativity, little boutiques, and sun drenched terraces where time seems to stand still.

Along the way, we stumbled upon Damonte & Lacarrieu, a hidden gem of a store, filled with carefully curated fashion and interior pieces, as if each item had been waiting just for you.

And then there was that one unforgettable Sunday afternoon at Benirràs Beach, where we had delicious lunch (and our favorite sangria) at Elements, when the beach transformed into a kind of open-air ceremony. As the sun began to dip, local drummers gathered and played rhythms that echo through the bay, slowly building with the sunset. People danced, sat in silence, or simply watched with a drink in their hand.

The trip ended in Ibiza’s Old Town, where we spent the evening exploring narrow streets and walking along the old stone walls. We found a small restaurant with a view over the city and live guitar music playing in the background. It was the perfect ending to the trip — a calm, beautiful moment that summed up everything we felt on the island. Ibiza isn’t easy to describe. You just have to be there to really get it.
